Abortion Services in Central Colorado

Mile High Women’s Clinic performs two types of abortions — medical and surgical. Medical abortions are a treatment option for patients 11 weeks pregnant or less. Surgical abortion is available in-house for patients up to 15 weeks pregnant, and patients up to 22 weeks pregnant may receive a surgical abortion in a hospital. 

We perform our abortion services in-house so you can have a comfortable and secure experience. With both procedures, you are welcome to bring along a partner, parent or friend for support.

Medical Abortion

With a medical abortion, your physician will prescribe you medication that will terminate the pregnancy. Since this is a nonsurgical procedure, the first medication is given in the office, the second set you will take at home. Approximately 50% of our patients choose this option.

Surgical Abortion

From check-in to release, your surgical abortion appointment will last about half an hour. Up to 12 weeks the procedure we use is is called dilation and curettage, or D&C. After 12 weeks the procedure is called dilation and evacuation, or D&E. For both procedures, your doctor will use a small instrument or medication to dilate your cervix before using another tool called a curette to remove the uterine tissue. The process will take approximately thirty minutes from check-in until release. The procedure itself takes about 10 minutes.
