At Mile High Women’s Clinic, we offer comprehensive, patient-focused OB/GYN and abortion services to anyone who needs them, including patients from other states. There are no legal restrictions limiting abortions in Colorado, so we welcome patients traveling from states where restrictions prevent them from receiving the care they need.
Our private, secure clinic in Denver is easy to find and always protester-free. We employ male and female gynecologists, some with nearly four decades of experience performing safe and effective abortions.
We offer two types of abortions in our clinical setting— medical and surgical abortions. Our policy is to provide patient-focused care, so we do our best to ensure you’re informed of your options and empowered to make the best decision for yourself. We’ll never push a particular treatment or try to sway your decision in any way.
If you need pre-treatment counseling, we can provide in-house care to talk you through your available options. Otherwise, we do not require any counseling and will treat your abortion like any other medical care, scheduling your procedure as soon as possible.
Medical abortions are available for patients up to 11 weeks gestation. For this procedure, you’ll take one pill in our office and a second at home. You will have an appointment before your treatment to guide you through what to expect and a post-procedure appointment two weeks later for an ultrasound and brief exam.
Surgical abortions are minimally invasive procedures to terminate pregnancies past 16 weeks gestation. This quick and low-risk procedure takes only a few minutes, though your appointment will last approximately an hour. During your appointment, you’ll be sedated. Once the abortion is complete, you’ll have time to recover in-office.
Surgical abortion patients can have a support person in the room during their procedure for added comfort.
For patients wishing to terminate pregnancies past 22-weeks gestation, we’ll generally refer you to a local hospital for a surgical abortion. Your Mile High Women’s Clinic physician can accompany you and complete your procedure for you there at your request.
The price of our abortion services is consistent regardless of where you’re from. The cost will vary depending on how far along you are in your gestation at the time of your procedure. Many insurance providers will cover most or all of the cost of an abortion.
If you don’t have insurance, or your plan won’t cover your procedure, you may qualify for financial assistance. In most cases, our Freedom Fund can help self-paying patients afford the care they need by providing $125 toward the cost of their procedure. For further assistance, contact the National Abortion Federation hotline by calling 1-800-772-9100.
